In 1979, Pope John Paul II began a revolution with his work, The Theology of the Body. Composed of 3-years worth of general audiences (from September 5, 1979 to November 28, 1984), John Paul the Great painstakingly responds to the questions: Who are we? What do we do? Through this work, we are introduced to Human Love and the Divine Plan. It applies to the married couple, the single person, and the celibate.

In January 2004, two groups of young Catholics, compelled by the Holy Father's support of young people, came together to form a Theology of the Body study group in Baltimore.  We come together weekly (people from all over Maryland, some of us drive over an hour) to read, learn, and discuss the teachings of the Catholic Church regarding love, sex, and vocation, in an effort to strengthen our Catholic identity, better live our vocation, and increase fellowship.

We are a group of young adults, with calls to each of the vocations.  As young people, we embrace our call to strengthen the Church. We welcome you to our group as we spread the good news of Theology of the Body in the new millennium.

"You are young, and the Pope is old, 82 or 83 years of life is not the same as 22 or 23. But the Pope still fully identifies with your hopes and aspirations. Although I have lived through much darkness, under harsh totalitarian regimes, I have seen enough evidence to be unshakably convinced that no difficulty, no fear is so great that it can completely suffocate the hope that springs eternal in the hearts of the young. You are our hope, the young are our hope.  Do not let that hope die! Stake your lives on it! We are not the sum of our weaknesses and failures; we are the sum of the Father's love for us and our real capacity to become the image of his Son."
